Μaria Papadopoulou

Maria Papadopoulou is active in the fields of movement, education, and somatic therapy.

She is a graduate of the Greek State School of Dance (2014) and the Department of Early Childhood Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2016). She also holds a Master's degree in Education and Human Rights from the same university (2021).

As a dancer, she has collaborated with contemporary choreographers and has many years of experience facilitating and delivering movement and improvisation workshops for both children and adults.

She teaches Pedagogy at the Moragemou Professional Dance School and presents her research at conferences, focusing on the analysis of pedagogical practices in dance and the social dimensions of educational processes. Her interests lie at the intersection of dance, education, and politics, with a dual focus: cultivating embodied learning among formal education teachers and strengthening the pedagogical dimension of dance instruction among dance educators.

She is also involved in holistic body therapies and is currently training in the SME program of Body-Mind Centering.

Since 2021, she has been the founder and head of educational programs at InDancEdu, designing and overseeing the implementation of inclusive movement-based programs for schools and communities, with a particular emphasis on multicultural environments and vulnerable social groups.
