Closing Celebration: ‘A Thousand Languages of Dance’
at the 132nd Primary School of Athens

InDancEdu invites you to an open event including a workshop for educators, a screening of a 20-minute documentary, and a discussion, on the occasion of the four-year pedagogical and artistic journey of the program “A Thousand Languages of Dance”, implemented from 2021 to 2025 at the 132nd Primary School of Athens.

The event is a moment of sharing, reflection, and coming together around the question: How can dance function as a space for connection, embodied learning, and educational transformation?

PROGRAM:

17:00–18:30 | WORKSHOP FOR EDUCATORS

An experiential workshop focusing on the integration of dance and embodied learning within the school context, addressed to educators without necessarily having prior experience with dance.

Aim: to highlight how accessible and applicable embodied teaching can be in everyday educational practice.

Participants will:

  • become familiar with simple embodied learning tools,

  • try out activities in practice,

  • share questions and reflections,

  • receive a resource pack of activities for immediate use in the classroom.

The workshop is addressed to educators in formal and non-formal education. Participation upon registration via email at: info@indancedu.com

18:30–19:00 | ARRIVAL, REFRESHMENTS & SNACKS

19:00–20:30 | DOCUMENTARY SCREENING & DISCUSSION

The main event will begin with a short introductory presentation of the program’s trajectory and its research documentation, including contributions from participants in the implementation and collaborators who will offer a theoretical framing.

This will be followed by the screening of a 20-minute documentary — an audiovisual reflection of four years of encounters, challenges, enthusiasm, transformations, and collective creation.

The evening will conclude with an open discussion, facilitated by InDancEdu, inviting questions, comments, and exchange of experiences.

Aim: for this initiative to become an open space for dialogue on the role of the body and the arts in education, and on the small shifts within the classroom that can have meaningful and political impact.

The event is addressed to:

  • the children who participated in the program and their families,

  • the teachers of the classes involved and the entire teaching staff,

  • educators, dancers, and professionals in the fields of education and the arts,

  • students, researchers, parents, and anyone interested in inclusive and embodied education.
